Longevity Now Program- Student Review
Longevity Now Program:
An In Depth Review and Details of the Program
From a Student Perspective
Most of us, I suspect, would like to live a long life. Even more importantly, we’d like to live a long and healthy life, which is what the Longevity Now Program is all about. There’s not much point in living to be a hundred years old if you spend the last thirty of it barely alive.
Yes, we’ve all heard about people who drank and smoke and ate a pound of bacon everyday and still lived to be more than one hundred years old. The sad truth is that, most likely, you are not one of those people and even if you are, you won’t know until you get to a ripe old age. Of course, if you’re not one of the lucky ones, that kind of lifestyle is a recipe for bad health, overall misery and an early grave.
The truth of it is that how long we live and well we live while we do it is largely up to us. Genetics matter, but not as much as the way we live our lives. If we do the right things, we can add years to our lives and life to our years. The problem, of course, is knowing what the right things are.
If you’re into health and wellness, you know that the conventional wisdom tends to shift and change over time. Things that were bad for you are now good for you, and things that were good are bad. This is a natural part of any science, but it can make it difficult for you to create a health plan and stick with it.
Longevity Now Program is Comprehensive and Step by Step
The Longevity Now Program is designed to take all the guesswork out of improving your health and well being, or at least that’s what it’s supposed to do. Whether it actually does or not is what this review is all about. I’ve always had a real interest in health and fitness, and I’d really like to keep my health and fitness going for decades. With that in mind, I was ready to give the Longevity Now Program a shot.
The Longevity Now Program was developed by David Wolfe, one of the world’s leading nutritionists, and one of the people that helped bring the ideas of organic, sustainable farming and raw food to the mainstream. This program is the result of all the research he’s done over the last few decades, and it shows.
The actual program is a doorstopper. There are four hundred pages worth of manual, discussing all aspects of eating and living for health and longevity. In addition to that it comes with several bonus reports and recipe books. That’s topped off with a 7 CD series and a number of DVDs. There’s a lot of information there, and it can actually be a little overwhelming to look at all of it.
This actually makes sense, because the program is supposed to be comprehensive and cover your entire your life. Wolfe believes that you need more than just instructions on what to do; you need to be able to understand what you’re doing. This allows you to adjust and accommodate when things get in your way or when the science changes.
A large part of the book is focused on repairing and optimizing your immune system. This is the fundamental system that allows your body to resist disease, and keeping your immune system in top shape is a large part of health and longevity. This is not something that most health and fitness programs cover, and I really enjoyed it.
The Longevity Now Program has a heavy focus on proper nutrition, which isn’t surprising given Wolfe’s background. The basic prescription is to eat as few processed foods as possible, ideally none, and to increase the levels of raw natural food in your diet to increase health and wellness.
This also includes getting the right supplements, focusing mostly on herbal supplements. This is actually a very useful section, and even though I thought I knew a lot about supplements, I actually a learned a lot. The program also spells out exactly what to take and when, eliminating any ambiguity.
The program also spends a lot of time discussing environmental hazards that can negatively affect your health. We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with stressors, toxins and radiation, and this is something you need to try and control unless you want to live a short life.
There are also sections on exercise, meditation and massage, as well as nearly everything else you think of that relates to longevity and health. All of this is well researched, and Wolfe actually shows you the evidence backing up what he’s saying, which I appreciated. I could have done with a little more on the exercise aspect of the program, but that’s just me.
All in all, I was really pleased with the program, and I’ve applied a lot of what I learned in it and I’m working on getting more of it in my life. If you’re committed to your own health and well being, this is probably the best package you’re going to find. It doesn’t really leave any stone unturned, and it does a good job on educating you on how to think scientifically, which is important for evaluating new information and integrating it into your wellness program.
That said, it’s not all roses. There were a couple of areas where, while Wolfe does show his reasoning, the recommendations were just a little too new age for my tastes. Likewise, the program does require you to make a pretty big commitment to lifestyle change. The other big drawback is the price. The program is fairly pricey, but you get an incredible amount of bang for the buck.
All in all, this is an extremely in depth and comprehensive program. If you apply the lessons in it, you will get better health and feel great immediately, which are not things to be taken lightly. Despite my caveats, I’d rate the Longevity Now Program as an essential part of anyone’s health and wellness library.
