There has been a lot of discussion out there about the topic of superfoods. Aging and Longevity Post
Aging is a popular topic among society. It is a subject that as human beings, we all have in common and we all experience daily. Unfortunately, aging has also taken on a negative connotation. How many times have you heard someone say, “I am too old to be able to do that” or “I forgot about that, I must be getting old”? Birthday cards every year distribute around the country with “getting older” jokes and advertisements flood our televisions with anti-aging products.
Well enough is enough. There is nothing negative about aging. Aging may mark the number of years we have already spent on this earth, but with it comes experiences (and hopefully) wisdom. So for those who are against aging, I say stop fighting your age and start adopting longevity.
Longevity in itself means to live longer than the average life. Many times, it is associated with life expectancy. Ones life expectancy is a measure of the average lifespan of a person. This measure changes based on ones age and gender. However, longevity is more than just increasing the quantity of your years, it is also about increasing the quality of your years. It is about having the physical capability and mental energy to do the things you want to do over a longer life span.
A lot of studies and data can be found out there on the subject of longevity. However, within all the clutter of information, you will find a recurring theme underlying longevity. This theme has to do with healthy living.
Living a healthy lifestyle has a huge impact on an individual’s life expectancy and on the quality of life they live. Now it needs to be emphasized that healthy living is not just about nutrition and exercise, although they are very important key elements. But it is also about possessing a positive attitude and having strong support systems (such as a loving family, community support groups, etc). This goes back to longevity increasing both life quality and life quantity.
So take the steps today to start adopting longevity techniques into your life. Aging is natural and inevitable. You cannot control the years from coming, but you can control how you live those years and also your probability of living longer (and healthier) years. David Wolfe, nutritionist and health educator, releases his new program, Longevity Now that teaches about longevity techniques. Longevity for Baby Boomers
More than ever, the baby boomer generation is looking for ways to live longer and stay healthier. In 2006, the first of the baby boomers turned 60 and started to think about possible retirement and aging. Yet, they are far from “retiring” from life. David Wolfe, nutritionist and health educator, releases his new program Longevity Now in June. The program teaches longevity techniques to assist baby boomers, as well as any generation, on ways to continue living a longer, healthier life. For more information, click on Longevity Now Program Review.
The Baby Boomer generation is the largest population group in the US. For those who don’t know, baby boomers are those born between 1946-1964, estimated to be around 77 million births in the U.S during that period. One in four Americans today is a baby boomer and they account for over a fifth of consumer spending. Another amazing fact about baby boomers is that more than half have children under the age of 18 living in their household and a third of them care for an older parent. This is also commonly referred to as being part of a “sandwich generation”. With all these responsibilities, it’s no wonder that baby boomers are so interested in health and ways to live longer. Being healthy and extending their years is almost a necessity.
As stated earlier, baby boomers are far from thinking about retiring from life. Those who are health conscious live very active lifestyles not only caring for children and parents, but through better eating habits and through increased participation in sporting activities, travelling and social groups. For them, it is about increasing both the quality and quantity of their years.
Many baby boomers are just starting explore the importance of health and wellness as they begin to enter their so-called “senior” years. David Wolfe’s program, Longevity Now, is a multi-media program that teaches about simple techniques on better nutrition, increased energy and disease prevention. The program is about adding years to your life and life to your years. For more information, click on Longevity Now Program Review.
